Thinking about buying a 07 Chevy Crew Cab 4x4 Duramax. Anyone have one? What kind of mileage are you guys getting? In my research, I have found that people are getting 15 or so city, 19-20 highway..

    This true?

    The truck has 28k miles.

A buddy of mine has an '08 2500HD 4x4 4dr shortbed and he generally sees figures in that range. Of course it drops to around 13mpg on the highway when he hooks up the travel trailer.

His has just a little under 50k miles and nothing but routine maintience done. I have ridden in this truck a couple of times and it is a lot quieter in the cab than other diesels.

Most Duramax dullies have 4.10 gears. Bad for empty mileage but good for pulling. My 02 Duramax with 120,000 miles and 3.53 gears gets about 18 MPG empty and 10 to 12 pulling a medium sized fifth wheel. Avoid Duramaxs before 04 1/2 unless you enjoy changing injectors. I'm getting good at it. Jimmy Borum

I have an 07 - long bed - pull 37' 5th wheel and drive it around town and wherever - computer says average mileage (since new) is 15.9 and that includes all trips, towing, not towing, city and hwy. It's a monster in a parking lot but I like this truck!

My Daughter and Son in Law own one. It has had $ problems. The latest is a leaky head gasket. (not a cheap fix). Check it out before you spend the money. Larry

I own 06 with 54000 mi. Get 20+ mpg on highway and 16+ IN TOWN. Pulling 13000 fifth wheel, it gets @ 10.4 mgg.

Have had 2 Duramax's (2001 & 2004), both averaged around 18mpg around town, a little better on the highway. Ran an Edge 90hp box on both of them and am still driving the 04 with with about 150,000 miles on it.

I`ve got a "09" 4X4 4 door dually. It developed an oil leak at around 5K miles. They finially figured out it had a cracked turbo housing and replaced the complete turbo. Mine doesn`t have the 410 rear end, something around 373. I pull a 38' Montana 5th wheel, with a total weight of 23,850lbs. Depending on wind, I`ll get 8.5 to 11 pulling the trailer. 16-17 empty. Quite and very comfortable rig. No other problems to date and would buy again. Bad303, here`s your chance to pipe in. You Ford lover you. Larry

My next door guy has 2008 durmax diesel about 60,000 miles. Pulls heavy duty trailer hauling tractors, 4wd trucks, ect. Mechanic backround. changes oil and filter every 4000 mile's regularly. Notice that at idle he has about 25lbs oil pressure. AT 60mph or better has 55lbs oil pressure. Anyone else experience this? PS: uses Mobil oil and Fram filters.
