    Joel,
In my experience, Universal Clays powder is great for 20 ga. and especially the 28 ga. I don't think it works very well in a 12 ga. as it leaves a lot of unburned powder residue. It is also generally a little more expensive than other good 12 ga options.

Like stated above, great in a 20 and 28. There are some good heavy load recipe's on Hodgdon's website. It's not a very good powder for 1 1/8 oz trap loads.

It's a decent powder for 1250 fps 1 1/8 oz loads in a 12 guage. You can even go a bit heavier than that if you wish. If you need a decent 1250 handicap load, it's a great powder. It's just a little expensive when compared to others. I know a lot of sporting clays shooters that use it.

Great powder for just about anything Unique is used for. I've used it in slug loads, 357 mag, 44 mag, and 12 ga slug plus medium loads in some lead bullet rifle loads. Just follow the manufacturer's recommendations in the brochures they provide. (as an aside, I do prefer the original, "Unique", as a medium powder. I think most problems can be solved with a half dozen powders: red dot, unique, 2400, 4198 and 4831....but then, I don't load for more than twenty or so calibers. (I use many more powders than this but I could "live" with these....maybe I better stock up based on the political comments I've been reading---NO Bama).
