If you go to Project 2000 in El Cajon, you will need to take a safety test prior to going onto the range. Here's their website, which is not maintained and is usually 2 to 3 months out of date. A round of trap will cost you about $8.

San Diego Shotgun Sports is closed. We are waiting to hear the verdict about whether it will open again or not, but you won't be able to shoot there at all any time soon.

Lemon Grove gun club is a private club and is not open every day to the public. You can attend their "fun shoots" on Friday nights at 5:30 PM or the second Saturday of the month at 9:00 AM and we will let you shoot all you want. On the 4th Sunday or each month is a sporting clays event that is open to the public and is quite popular. They will get as much as 28 squads shooting this event. Here is our website, which IS kept up to date and we welcome you with a handshake and a smile, and don't require a safety test prior to shooting. Our games are by far the cheapest in California, and a round of trap is $4. We also have a trap league every Wednesday night.

    See you there.
