Any info on this type Mdl. 12?

    A friend of mine just inherited some guns from his late father and one of them was a fairly old Win. mdl. 12. It had a Weaver choke system on it. Looked like an adjustable (vari-choke) choke unit but it had screw in choke tubes. Not that I'm any kind of expert on it but I've never seen such a choke (Weaver) on ANY shotgun. Anyone have any info on this?? Anxiously waiting....

    I am currently reading a book on the Mod 12 by Midas? It states that there were a few Weaver chockes installedby Winchester. It would make the gun a bit more rare than others with say a cutts compensator type chocke system.

    Weaver chokes were installed on many shotguns by many different gunsmiths. They were rather common 45 years ago.
