Has anyone had a Federal Gold Medal Handicap smoothy separate from the brass and had the plastic lodge in the barrel so tight you can't push it out with anything. Any ideas as to getting out the plastic out in a hurry without doing any damage to the barrel?

Use dimes. It worked at our club. 3 to be exact.

A 28 gauge hull on the end of your ram rod will usually do the trick.

I've used a cleaning rod with tip removed on a 28 gauge a few times.

I may have had to tap it lightly with a hammer, but it's been a while.

Wood dowel cut at an angle. Use to happen all the time with the Blue Magic shells using 700X.

I have also seen a 12 ga wad used (sometimes with a dime added) to knock the hull out. If stuck really badly, a squirt of Kroil or solvent can help.

Two or three dimes and a rod worked for me the half dozen times I faced the problem.
