Antivirus 360 just installed itself on my computer, despite my best efforts to prevent it. How do I get rid of it. There's a ton of companies offering solutions, but they all want me to buy their anti-spyware program. The program doesn't come up in the list of programs under Install/uninstall in the control panel.

I loaded Spyware Doctor, but I need to buy it. I'll bite the bullet if this is a good program.

It's a VIRUS! I guess they can sell the fix by infecting your computer. Had to have my son uninstall Norton with an online virus program to rid the 360 program. Sorry I can't help. Good luck

People usually pick this kind of junk up when they are surfing the porn sites.

Antivirus 360 is usually promoted via a ZLOB/MediaAccess Codec installer found on adult websites. Zlob has been the trojan of choice to infect users with pop ups disguised as system notifications that lead to websites with rogue anti-spyware programs. You can also install Antivirus 360 manually on the rogue website antivirus-scanner.com. Antivirus 360 may use its system scanner to display false positives which work as an incentive to make unsuspecting users purchase Antivirus 360's commercial version.

yes, do exactly what truthseeker suggests, it works. you will need to go into msconfig and turn on diagnostic then reboot into a clean environment before you run the program.. it will take it out...

    go to:

    www.superantispyware.com

It is a free program. My son wound up puting 360 on my computer, and this removed it with no problem. Good luck.

I would go to Trendmicro.com and use their housecall online scanner. They like to sell stuff too, but this is a good tool. I have used it several times for stuff I couldn't get rid of. Above is a link you can use to get there.

Malwarebytes anti spyware is good. It should remove antivirus 360. superantispyware will work too. Google either one and download them. Anytime you see a popup saying you have a virus never click anything but the X to close the window. If that doesn't work hit Control, Alt, Delete. Then find the program under the application tab and choose End Task to close the window. If you click anywhere else it will get downloaded to your computer and cause problems. Hope that helps

Trend micro didn't work for me. I had to use the malware-bytes free product.

For some reason Malwarebytes didn't remove it, but Superantispyware did. Thanks, guys -especially John 53.

Knology here uses HOUESCALL on all customer's systems they install.

It cleans off the viruses/Trojans/worms, but it does not prevent them afterwards. you have to buy something to to that.
