    Doea anyone collect antique microscopes? I have one from the 1890's and would like to find out more about it. Bulge.

    Well without going into too much detail, i can tell you that it was made around 1890 and it is an antique. :)

    Seriously though, it sounds neat. I love antique tools and equipment and the history around them. I hope you find the info you are seeking.

    I have a good friend who specializes in antique optics (Zeiss in particular), I would be happy to show him pictures and have him read a description.

    I am sure he would share what he knows about it, and if that is not much I am certain he can put you in touch with the right person.

    I would start at the website above. This is where I go to identify old microscopes.

    Older brass microscopes are all over the place on price. You command a premium if you have the wood box and it is in good shape. Once you have identified the microscope, ebay is your friend to determine value. I have seen them go for under $100 and for more than $1000 depending on the maker, condition and market.
