I have seen several recent threads on gun lubricants, and would like an opinion on another product.

I have "several" small tubes of fishing reel lube, the kind that comes in the small gray tube, and I believe it is a form of graphite.

I also have one in particular, that is labeled "Gun Lubricant".

This stuff is very slick, and a very small amount goes a long way.

Does, or has, anyone used this on your guns?

    Danny:

The old reel grease that I bought years ago is a synthetic, clear, non-graphite grease. I have used it for years and it's great stuff. I bought a lot of it probably 15 years ago at Big Lots for about 70 cents a tube. The operating temperature range is about 250+ down to -80 degrees. I believe this stuff is just as good as the high-prices hinge pin grease sold by other companies. Funny, reel grease because it's for fishing is cheap; now change the name of it to hinge pin grease and multiply the price times 3. Outers made some graphited grease for guns which is a black grease. What BT said.
I have tried just about everything out there.
I found the best to be Quantum Hot Sauce Reel Grease.
    Once you try it.....

I like BMG grease, have a tight opening gun use it, and it opens a helluva lot easier.
