Delusional, detached and living in a world of her own. Just as the sheeple who vote for her are. The same Maxine Waters that said "if the oil companies don't start paying more taxes we'll just take them over" Freudian slip? I think not.

Moreover, the applause in the audience is the most disturbing aspect of it all.

    Idiots en mass.

    Gentlemen:

When describing Ms. Waters, it is tempting to use adjectives like 'looney, ignorant, crazy, and delusional'. However, doing so is factually inaccurate. In the context of a political discussion, it is also a strategic error.

Ms. Waters is a shrewed and capable politician. From the mid 70's to 1991 she was a California state representative. Since 1991, she has represented the 35th Congressional District of California or it's predecessor the 29th.

The 35th is located in Los Angeles County and includes the communities of Inglewood, Gardena, and Florence-Graham. The electorate is overwhelmingly democrat and radically left. It supports lib dem candidates exclusively. What might suprise some is that the 35th is not predominately black.

Waters is a socialist. Not because some right wing website describes her as such and certainly not because I say so. Do your own research. Make your own judgement. Maybe this will get you started...

Waters was a congressional freshman in 1991. In her first year Waters was one of six House members that founded the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC). For those unfamiliar with the CPC, it has approximately 80 members. Here are a few quick CPC facts.

    1. It is the largest caucus in the House.

    2. Every member is a House democrat except Senator Bernie Sanders.*

    3. During the 111th Congress (it served during the first two years of Obummer's term) one of three House democrats was a CPC member.

    4. There are 20 standing committees in the U.S. House. During the 111th Congress, the chairmen of ten were members of the CPC. Most of those were committee chairs in earlier Congresses. Some were also former chairmen of the caucus.

The speech posted above is part and parcel of Water's politics. She's simply playing to her radical constituents. By any account, she has had a history of 'interesting' view points. For example, In 2001, she called Richard Riordan, L.A. mayor, a "plantation owner". During the L.A. riots in 1992, Waters described the violence as a "spontaneous reaction to injustice". She held "economic, social, cultural, and political" factors responsible and that the L.A. riots should rightly be called a "rebellion" or "insurrection."(1)

Waters was a co-sponsor of Rep. John Conyers' bill calling for reparations for slavery to be paid to black Americans. Conyers is another founding member of the CPC. Both are prominent members of the Black Congressional Caucus which speaks volumes about the CPC and the Black Caucus, but I digress...

The goals and priorities of the CPC explains a great many things about Waters and democrats in general. Their website has been modified but the core mission includes (or previously included) all of the following:

    - universal access to healthcare (can you say socialized medicine a la Obummercare?)

    - living wage laws

    - the right of all workers to organize into labor unions and engage in collective bargaining (author's note: those labor rights have been codified in federal legislation for roughly 70 years)

    - legalization of same-sex marriage

    - US participation in international treaties such as the climate change related Kyoto Accords

    - a crackdown on corporate welfare and influence (where was Waters and the CPC
when GM, Chrysler, and the UAW got bailed out? How about the half billion dollar Solyndra debacle?)

    - an increase in income tax rates on upper-middle and upper class households

    - tax cuts for the poor (here's a newsflash - the poor don't pay taxes)

    - increased welfare spending by the federal government

Just looking at the last three items, from which class warfare socialist president have you heard THESE ideas before?

I could go on but do your own research. Google 'Congressional Progressive Caucus'. Check out the list of members. See who supports the caucus and its members. See who they support. You'll find all sorts of familiar names. Acorn, Occupy whatever, Moveon.org. Jesse Jackson Jr's Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, ACLU, NAACP, and like it or not, a plethora major labor groups. The more you dig, the more you'll find. Thre are some genuinely unsavory groups. You have to do some research on reputable sites to find them. The CPC works to avoid being publically associated with some of the worst.

So go to the CPC website. Read their mission statement. Notice the prominent use of lofty sounding goals described with fuzzy and undefined terms. How can anyone argue with "social and economic justice"? Here's how. Consider their lofty stated goals then google the members to see what specific legislation they have sponsored and support. Ask yourself if what they embrace and support is consistent with your values. If it is, send them a donation.(2)

Just for fun, pick a half dozen members at random. Google their name plus 'scandal'. See how many hits you get.

Make no mistake. These people are socialists. Like Obummer, they are absolutely committed to the elimination of Constitutionnal principles and the destruction of our country.

Do a little research. Please. Read there own damn words. Study their own behavior. Stick with respected websites and news organizations. You'll find it all there.

*The exception is Senator Bernie Sanders. Sanders is technically an independent but votes exclusively with dems. He is a self described socialist.

Sanders was a U.S. Representative in 1991 and another founding member of the CPC.

    (1) These specific examples are from Wikipedia with appropriate citations. The more you look, the more you'll find. There's just no end to it.

    (2) For the Union brothers reading this post, your "voluntary" contributions collected through dues are already supporting these people and their friends. They are your dollars. Donate them any way you want but you may want to rethink the wisdom of where your leadership is spending your PAC dollar.

So to condense her career in a sentence, if possible, she's for anything that borders on the fringes, anything that draws in the nut bags in her district and she's made a few lucky moves along the way. In a word....socialist tendencies, leanings and policy endorser.

Your summary of Waters is understated by orders of magnitude.

    - She doesn't have socialist tendencies. Waters and the Congressional Progressives sponsor, embrace, and support overtly socialist legislation and policies almost to the exclusion of all else. They are socialist sons of b!tches to their very core.

    - What you or I might consider fringe is in the minds of Waters and her CPC peers absolutely mainstream.

    - She doesn't appeal to a minority of voters in the 35th district that are nut bags. A significant MAJORITY are nut bags.

    - Waters has been elected to state or federal office for approximately 36 consecutive years. The reason(s) for her political success can be explained a number of different ways. "A few lucky moves" isn't one of them.

As for John Conyers and the CPC; Look at his district and tell me what he has done? First of all Detroit in the 60's nad early 70's was a decent place to live over the last 40 years it has become one huge GHETTO! Pretty meuc the only money left in Detroit is being provided by (and I am not a recist) white businessmen. If anyone wants proof they should just make a vacation here and take a look around. This whole area (state of Michigan) is in a depressed state since Detroit has been run by the democrats. But I can't let this rant go to waste. They all have huge pensions. Now we are in the middle of another scandle in government here in southeast Michigan. That scandle involves the Wayne County executive, Robert Ficano. If you want to know more about that just look him up on google. It's all kind of comical and it all kinda sucks all at the same time.

Another fact about John Conyers, his "old lady" Monica was part of the corrupt Kwame Kilpatrick regime. She is doing 5+ years in the federal pen (relaxation prison minimum security) for taking bribes for wastewater sludge hauling in Detroit. John Conyers flat out denied that he had any knowledge of her actions at the time. I say BULLCRAP! He was sleepin' with her and he wants me to believe that he doesn't communicate with her? BULLCRAP AGAIN. He has been a corrupt polition since he was first elected. Personally I think he should be sharin' the next prison cell to her.

I defer to your superior knowledge of, and most apt description of the wicked witch of the west. (however, Barbara Boxer and Diane Feinstein are close runnerups)
