Cleaning the loading room, watching the hearings. It's going to be a contentious 4 years.

Gun owners are going to have to make a lot of noise, just so they don't lose too much ground.

Every honest, law abiding gun owner should join the NRA. Numbers count!! Plain & simple!!

I agree, Every sportsman should join the NRA, GOA, JPFO, or your local state organization. If any ground is lost it will be because you as an individual did not do enough, not because somebody else didn't do enough! The "other guys" can't do it without you.

ETA: I am not referring to the prior poster's, but rather anyone who reads this post.

I'm a life-long NRA member, and I'll continue to be so. However, the NRA, in supporting Democrat's for office, solely on a professed support of the 2nd amendment are partly responsible for what is going to be happening to our hunting and gun rights in the coming years.

We've got to start recognizing that wacko liberals control the Democrat party, and they are not our Friends. What the NRA and GOA have been successfully fighting off in the past, is about to be inflicted on us by NObama's AG Holder by bureaucratic rule and order. A Democrat controlled Congress slipped another one by us.

All NRA members should be screaming at the NRA too stop this self-destructive practice.

    IMHO,
    Kip

What about making membership in the NRA a REQUIREMENT to belong to the local Trap or Skeet Club?? I've found that many shooters do NOT belong.

FWIW, I'm a life member of the National Rifle Assn but I gotta say SOMEBODY at NRA's got his head up his @$$.........They endorsed Max Baucus (D) of Montana for his Senate re-election bid this last election??? Senator Baucus voted for the Brady law for cris-sake! He talks the talk when he's campaining back home and he votes our way in Washington when it don't matter how he votes, BUT on the ONE occasion when his vote in the Senate made the difference..........he voted for gun control. Brady became law by just ONE vote, NRA's got a damn short memory I'd say!

If your family or friends won't spend the money to join the NRA and they don't mind, give it to them as a gift for their special occassions etc.
That way we can get the numbers up.

Toooo many are just standing by, especially hunters, figuring gun control won't affect them. It is just like the trapshooter with the black gun crowd, "I just have an O/U or SBT, so it won't affect me". We have to remember the old saying, "UNITED WE STAND.....DIVIDED WE FALL"!!!!!!!!!!

Sad to say, I never thought too much about it until about 5 years ago. I had been a member for many years and thought LaPierre was too radical. Once I started realizing the "pistol grip and law enforcement use" phrase would apply to my 1187, Benelli M2 and 391's. To the anti-gunner, ANY gun is an ASSAULT WEAPON and they want ALL GUNS GONE!!!

A friend of mine puts on a "Fun Shoot" with about 90 shooters. Entry is $50,,,,and this includes an annual membership into the NRA. Just a thought for your area. He does this a weekend or 2 prior to the local dove season so alot of the "shooters" are "hunters". We work with the novices on safety and many of those attending have never even shot. The club gets about 2 or 3 every year that develop an interest in shooting. Might be something to try in your are,,,,lots of potential all the way around.

I'll ditto the NRA membership recommendations. You wonder why people are buying AR-15's, they know what's coming. I ordered AR-15 magazines from Midway and they were out of stock within 2 days. My friend ordered 5 a month ago and delivery still not here. The frenzy is not due to confidence in the upcoming administration, quite the contrary. The people with confidence is George Soros, Sarah Brady, Ted Kennedy and the list goes on. Keep in mind our new VP Biden claims he authored the Clinton Assault Weapons Ban Bill. These people are the worse bunch of anti-gunners I've seen in all my 55 plus years. I hear the sucking sound. Darrell

Four years ago you could get an SKS for 75 bucks. Two years ago it was up to 150 bucks. Now they are going for nearly 300 and everybody is buying up all the 7.62X59 ammo. With Obama and his gun grabbers in power it's gonna be a LONG 4 years!

Belonging to the NRA is great, but here is my question.

How many NRA members also belong to AARP?

Too many say they are able to pay for their membership with the discounts from AARP, but they do not look at the amount of money AARP gives to THE BRADY BUNCH!

The wife wanted to join, and I told her if she would call and get a confirmation of not backing THE BRADY BUNCH, I would join. She got put on hold, and two minutes later it was confirmed that AARP supports Handgun Control Inc.

If you belong to AARP, you are helping the antis with both money and numbers of members.

    That is my quarters worth.

My youngest daughter just joined the NRA (3 yr. membership). Even though she is quite abit more liberal than me, she does understand the meaning and intent of the 2nd. Amendment.

I stopped belonging to the AARP many years ago when I found out they were anti-gun. A lot of places will still give you the AARP discount without you having to show a membership card. Make sure you tell your friends about AARP and the anti gunners. Larry Evans

I two am a member of the NRA but members must be aware that within the NRA controlling body their is alsol greed. When time like this happen it also means a big influx of money. True it takes a lot of money to support our cause, and the people know in government that they can keep the fight up with the taxpayes money while the NRA tries to keep up the fight at the other end with personal memberships. The Demo's now they can break the NRA by just submitting lesgitation for the gun members to fight. If the NRA and all gun owners would start to watch the little comunities and put out the little fires amd not let them spread then not so many forest fires would need to be put out in Washington.
Now is the time to start putting out fires at both ends and also clean out any fatcats that might be in the NRA. B12

Hey, they want to stick around and take a swipe at me.

    FINE!

They ain't getting no virgin. I can take care of myself. I don't need obama to help me out like they do.

C'mon you two. Grow a pair. Stand up for yourselves and tell obama that he can keep his socialist welfare hand out "only the government can help" BS.

I doubt if they do, but I hope they own something that obama wants to screw with. THEN you will hear these two sheep bleat.
