I didn't have the patience to read the entire previous thread and apologize if this question was answered. I "think" I know the answer, but I'd to like see what other interpretations are. The facts: Lady shoots 94 in 16s and is NOT high for the lady category but she IS high for Class D. Can she win Class D?

As you stated it, yes, she would win Class D.

As I understand it, If she were tied for High lady, she would HAVE to defer to shooting off for the ladies category and would NOT be able to fall back on the class D win.

True too. But that's not the question that was posed.

BigM-Perazzi- You correctly answered the posted question and expanded your answer to include a circumstance where the lady would not be eligible for the class win. You provided a fine answer and explanation.

Rvator97- The rule is clearly stated in the reference you cited, but the examples covered are far from complete. Additional explanations are in order.

I can see some situations where target management will become an issue.

"I can see some situations where target management will become an issue."

... target management ... meaning dropping birds a-purpose?

For the past eight years I've shot as a Senior Vet and really didn't care about class trophies. What was most important to me was to win the category in the State Champioship as it gave eligibility to shoot in the Champion of Champions at the Grand which would not come by winning a class.

Yes. Some call it sandbagging, others call it cheating. Tomatoes, To-MAH-toes, as Barry likes to say.
