Susan Boswell, the dean of student life at Hopkins, said in a statement that she was "relieved to report that the student was not harmed," but she also advised other students not to follow the swordsman's example.

"If you ever suspect that there is a prowler in your residence or on your property, call 911 immediately," Boswell said. "Experts advise that you do not attempt to confront the intruder, but rather secure yourself in a locked area until police arrive."

Instead of teaching students that crimals are crimals and THEY should be punished, they tell them to run and hide! Liberal asume that the police are just around the corner and are going to protect you. NOT!

This Kid should be praised for his courage and strenght, one less crimal to waste tax dollars on. One less intruder that the neighborhood has to fear!

Learn how to protect YOUR Self, no one will be there in time to do it for you!

Oh ya, "experts" are just former "drips" under pressure!

    One of my favorite quotes....

"The police cannot protect the citizen at this stage of our development, and they cannot even protect themselves in many cases. It is up to the private citizen to protect himself and his family, and this is not only acceptable, but mandatory." Jeff Cooper

I like the part where the "hand was almost severed". Gimme five. I believe the Washington Post described the guy as being a 29 time loser who got out the last time two days ago.

Why do you carry a gun?

Because a cop is too heavy. Jeff

Lucky the bad guy wasn't carrying a firearm. It may have resulted in a different outcome. NEVER bring a knife to a knife fight. EVER! However, in Baltimore in the People's Republik of Mary Land, you don't have many other choices. If the kid was looking for trouble, then he was wrong. If he was investigating to see if other property was missing, then taking "something" with him might have been prudent. Unfortunately, his actions resulted in a death. Even if the dead individual was a bad guy, you still need to use reason about the application of deadly force. If the student WAS indeed in fear of his life, then he was probably justified. If he was acting out a scene from a video game in retaliation, then there may be consequences.
