One of the greatest, if not the greatest, TV Dad's. His show "The Andy Griffith Show" is still one of my all time favorites. I really enjoyed the show when he and Don Knott's were together, not so much after Don left.

This is so sad to hear. The AG show was a favorite when I was a ladd. I also like his part in the Brad Paisley video, "waitin' on a woman". Such a great loss. RIP.

Loved the movie "No Time For Sargeants". The bathroom scene where the toilet lids flip up at "Attention" and he is made PLO {permanent latrine orderly]. Andy will be missed! Fred

"Andy" and "Barney" were two of the best ever on TV....I still laugh at the program whenever I watch it.

I understand that Don was one heck of a trap shooter.

The show was great and Andy and Don Knotts were two of my favorites. I have met
all of the Darlin' Family,(the Dillards.) Mitch Jayne,(the bass player and lyricist,) and I were good friends. He wrote the eulogy for my mother and I read it at the funeral. He spoke very fondly of Andy and Barney and loved to spin yarns of their time on the set with them. Martinpicker

It was the best part of having to be home sick from school...our local tv channel had AGS on for two half hr reruns before game shows started going crazy

I recall an episode when Andy was defeated in skeet shooting by a woman. He was shooting a Superposed if I remember correctly. Definitely an O/U.

I have been a fan from the time I saw "No Time for Seargents" at the Alvin Theatre on Broadway until today when I was in Mt. Airy at the time I heard of Andy's death. He will be missed by many of us to whom the characters of Mayberry are real because the remind us of people we knew.
