I stopped by a local gunshop this morning and they had one of the nicest Model 42's I've ever seen -- 28" barrel, Modified choke, solid rib, stocked in superb French Walnut w/a very, very nice checking job -- and the best part was it was easily the nicest job of engraving (gold inlays) I've ever seen done by Gino Cargel. Western motif with cowboy roping a steer on one side and cowboys and mexicans on the other -- surrounded by well-excuted delicate scroll work.

A lot of 42's have engraving that's really to big for the receiver and it can look gaudy --- not this one.

I think it may have found a home.

    acss --- I'd expect a finder's fee of at least 5%.
