How much is everyone paying for shotshells? And how is it affecting your shooting?

For the next few days Gander has Top Guns for $5.95, I have a bunch of coupons for $10 off any $50 purchase so I've been getting flats for $49.50. Another store in town is selling Rem. Sport loads for $49.95 a flat. These are 1oz 1290 fps. great for 16's and love to reload the black hulls.
With the components on hand I can still reload for less than $4 a box so I use these for practice. I have backed off to two days a week and about 75-100 rounds in practice but still shoot about 250-300 round per week. I have seen a marked decrease in shooter and rounds so far this year. I'm planning on attending the first state shoot of the year this weekend, it'll be interesting to see the turn out.

prices are rude but I am still shooting whenever I can. This weekend will start on Friday with 500 doubles. Loading my own - 8 lbs of green dot = $110.00, Rem 209 primers = 40 bucks/1000, 25 lbs shot = 40.00(??), STS hulls $68.00/1000, Rem wads = 25.00/1000.... That makes a reload without the hull cost about 5 bucks a box for 1 OZ loads. Promo shells are running a bit higher than that around here and I understand there will be another shell price increase by July.

walmart federals 22.22 after tax, local sporting goods store has estates for roughly 60/flat couple that with a 25 mile drive to the club in a ford ranger, and a limited budget, i can only really afford about 100 targets a week.

Here is Washington state you can get Gun Clubs on sale these days for $57 a flat. Wally world has the top guns and sport loads at about $23 to $24 for 100 rounds. Makes the $40 a flat gun clubs stacked in the corner of the garage seem like a great deal.

Even though costs are going up, I continue to shoot because shooting is what I do for fun. Don't own a set of golf clubs and don't plan to look for any...I continue to buy shells when they are on sale as I have a feeling that as time goes on availability of ammo may become a problem let alone the climbing prices.

I've noticed everyone shooting the "El Cheepo" throwaway shells. Am I the omly one still shooting AA's and STS? Of course, I shoot them because I reload them. But, I seem to be the only one reloading anymore. At lease around my club. I shot 4 boxes of new STS's yesterday and everyone was surprised that I was wasting money on premo shels. Maybe reloading is going the way of Dino's.

I don't know about reloading becoming extinct but I've run out of shot and will not buy more at today's prices. Buying cheap shells as required.

Where is Joe's? I wish I could find Gun Clubs that cheap. I have shot them several times for Sporting Clays and like the results.

$36.25 per bag with 10 bag purchase this week end in Mason. Looks like I'm back in the reloading business.

    shot 410-

i think a lot of people are to "busy" to bother to reload, for me its part of the fun of shooting and i make time to reload myself. even if i shoot cheap promo shells i would still not let them hit the ground for someone else to pick up as most people at our club that shoot them do.

Bottom Dollar near Washington Court House, OH has shot for $39.00 but you got to pick it up there. First time they have had shot at all since the price of shot went ballistic.
