    Hi Fred,

You probably won't hear from many people who have shot Extra-Lite(TM), since we have not begun shipping it yet. We have received our DOT approval though, and our first large production lot is in lot acceptance right now. I expect we will begin shipping this new powder sometime in April.

Extra-Lite is a really fast burning, bulky flake powder designed to enhance the performance of really light 12ga target loads. So, if you load 7/8oz, and you want to fill the shell a little better without running the velocity too high, this powder is for you. The burn speed helps get the pressure up there so the really light loads will perform better all year round. This powder is not for 1-1/8oz, just moderate velocity 1oz and lighter.

    Thanks for your interest.

    Shoot well,

    Paul

Paul, Is this new powder faster than Win AA Lite?

Paul, I'm very interested in this powder. When will reloading data be available? Will you have loads worked up with the white 7/8 Duster? Thanks, Wayne

Sounds like it may make a good powder for target loads in handguns.

Alliant just may have a winner here. I may have to get a pound of it (providing the data is good for my componets) and give it a try.

Jim you might be on to something there. Maybe another .45acp powder? Wayne

There have been Alliant Extra Lite loads published in recent issues of the NSSA skeet review.

Looks like a perfect powder for 24 gram (7/8 oz) and light 28 gram (1 oz) loads.

Wish a comparison bulk factor was published tho: e.g. bulky as Red Dot or bulky like (the much denser) Hi-Skor 700X. . .

I'm looking forward to see if it's as smooth recoiling as Clay Dot or as thumpy as Red Dot/Promo.
