I was fortunate enough to be a beta tester on the Alliant 20/28 powder. It is much cleaner than Unique and about as clean as Universal Clays and a little less bulky than either. It meters very well. When I was testing I measured each load thrown by a MEC 9000G and a P/W 900 for each gauge. There was less than 2 tenth grain of variation in drop weight over 250+ loads. On the MECs I used the red plastic powder baffles and on the P/Ws the internal bottle baffles.
It really shines when loading the 28 gauge. You can get a full 3/4oz payload with either the Win AAHS28 or the Claybusters clone wad with out needing to resort to the very high wad seating pressures needed when using Unique or Universal and it is in my opinion much more consistant for pressures than Longshot.
Great powder that fills a real need AND is made right here in SW Virginia.
My Unique will go back to pistol reloading and the 20/28 will be my powder of choice for 20 and 28 ga.

Hard to beat HS-6 and Longshot for efficient 28 ga loads. I can use the MEC #13 or 13A bushing with either one and have plenty room.

I tested it in both 20 and 28 and USED it in both. In the 20ga it is as clean as any powder you can use with very little residue. Performance in both STS and Win AAHS hulls was good with no crimp issues and good bird breaks.
It is now my powder of choice for both 20 and 28 gauge.

Nope, the less expensive Unique does all I need in 20 ga. My Alliant 20/28 is reserved for 28 ga loads exclusively.

The new 20/28 powder really works well in both 20 and 28 gage. It is exceptionally clean and not as bulky as other powders. This eliminates some wad/crimp problems found when using some other powders.
