I was informed this morning that Vet All-American R.R. Bob Brown of Red Deer, Alberta (Canada) passed away yesterday after a year long battle with cancer. He was shooting in Arizona in I think December '06 when he fell ill and came home. Funeral arrangments are pending. My sincere condolences to his family.

I have known and shot with Bob many times since the 70's, he will be missed. Some years ago Bob let me try one of his fiber optic crossfire preventer front beads as it really helped his shooting; After that incident I bought my own Uni-Dot front bead and it helped me as well. My condolences to the family. MikeTMX - Calgary

Thinking back to when I started shooting registered targets in 1978, at the Lethbridge Trap Club, and Bob coming down to shoot there and always making me feel like one of the guys even though I was a beginner. Always enjoyed visiting with him and in later years comparing sore knees and the relative merits of our arthritis meds. I'll miss him along with our other shootin' pals who preceded him...

The 2008 Canadian Committee is pleased to announce that we will be celebrating Mr. Brown's outstanding accomplishments and valuable contributions to our sport during the 53rd Canadian Trapshooting Championships by re-naming Friday's Class Doubles event on June 27th in his honour.

Thankyou 2008 Canadian Committee. It should be remembered that Bob Brown was very instrumental in having Ontario rejoin the Canadian Trapshooting Association.

Hi Dave, the 2008 Canadian Championship will be held in Ontario at the Hamilton Gun Club. There is a possibility that the 2009 Canadian will be in Alberta.
