I am going to be in Alaska from June 15th until July 14th 2009 and I'm wondering about the state shoot and others while I'm there. The ATA site doesn't give it. Does anyone know what's available there? Thanks

The state shoot starts on the 16th of July but the Pita state shoot in Fairbanks is right around that time. When I get to the office I will be able to give you exact dates.

It is indeed _exactly_ the time to be fishing. "Combat" at the Russian campground and drifting on the Kenai and Kasiloff. Nothing like it in the world!

state shoot starts on the 15th, goes through the 19th of july. Fairbanks has a PITA state shoot, but I think its just before you get here.

Anchorage will have Big 50s every Thursday night all summer, so you should be able to catch one of those if you want, and we'll have a handicap marathon the 3rd weekend in June.

you can email me directly at jpokorny@cookinlethousing.org for more information and/or trip help.

Neil, if you'll come fish the russian for combat fishing time...you should come shoot our state shoot with us!!

Don't believe anything that Jeff says about the weather in Alaska during the shoot. He can't be trusted! Ted
