I'm going up in early August. Going on a 5 day float fishing trip on Moose Creek (upper Deschka river) with a long time friend and Alaska resident. Wish I could spend June, July, and August there every year. But I want out of there by Labor Day.

Wife and I just got back from 7 days of fly fishing. Rainbows to 24 inches. Grayling to 17 inches. Dolly Vardens to 23 inches. All the Sockeye, Chum, and Silver salmon you wanted. Just my wife, the guide and a few Grizzlys. Amazing place. www.talahiemlodge.com

The price on the website is negotionable. Helicopter rides each day to a river loaded with fish. When I first did it, I thought the price was a high also. But after the first time two years ago, I went back for my second time this year. Probably go back again. The only negative about the trip was the mosqutios and they werent that bad. The high light of the trip is when they fly you to a glacier for an afternoon. You go to go fishing and leave feeling like family. UNBELIEVABE experience.

Nice salmon. How big was the halibut? Was there any left to bring home or did it all get eaten there? Do you have more pictures? Inquiring minds would love to know.

Glad to see you had a nice trip.

The mouth on that Ling Cod looks big enough to swallow you. How big is this one? Do they put up a fight? How do they taste? Are they like our Atlantic cod?

Pardon all the curiousity, but the fishing in Alaska looks really awesome.
