I will bite on this hook since you mentioned Weller’s. I was raised on Stitzell Weller bourbons including Weller’s, Cabin Still, Rebel Yell and Old Fitzgerald.

Brandy IMO is best for a "warm up". Paul Masson Grande Amber is my favorite.

Remember what Mark Twain said about the medicinal effects of alcohol. He said something to the effect that while alcohol may not be the best medicine, nothing else fails so effectively.

Also, the fictional Dr. Watson of Sherlock Holmes fame was quite a fan of brandy. Sherlock on the other hand preferred something else in his veins. "The needle Watson!"

My dad, may he rest in peace, especially like Very Very Old Fitzgerald Bottled in Bond which is a 12 year old 100 proof. I have a quart I purchased about 1970 put back for when our daughter gets married. Our daughter is quite a bit younger than the bourbon.

Nice dark beer, if you are still hanging around the grounds. Dirty Martini once you are where you plan to settle down for the night.

In my case it usually involves at least a 90 minute drive home and so I don't usually have one for the road....but when I get home...Balvenie Double Wood Single Malt Scotch hits the spot!!
