IMHO an adjustable comb is an absolute must, if you want your gun to fit your body, if you want to be competative as a trap shooter and if you want to be able to move the POI to where the target is. With an adjustable comb you can get the sight picture you want, make the pattern move up or down and get the fit that allows you to feel comfortable and relax into the gun. If you and the gun are not acting as one, you can't hit the little birdie.

Your eye is the rear sight of your shotgun. If you shoot a rifle, your sights or your scope have adjustment. Your adjustable comb will allow you to move the point of impact not only up and down but right and left. If you want to hit what you shoot at, the adjustable comb is much less expensive than a custom fit stock. And your face will change some as your weight changes.

Not allowing your shotgun to be adjusted so that it shoots where you are looking is no different than taking a new rifle hunting without sighting it in. Adjusting a shotgun's comb position does the same thing as adjusting the rear sight or scope on a rifle.

I am very lucky, since there are factory stocks out there that actually FIT me.

Mostly, an adjustable comb is needed to fine tune the fit. A little misfit at the stock is a lot at the target.
