What does adding a barrel to your receiver entail and what is the cost? I have a top single beretta 686 and thinking about adding an o/u barrel.

The cost is whatever you can find a new or used barrel of the type you desire and designed for your receiver. Plus, 9 1/2 out of 10 times the barrel will need to be fitted to the receiver by a gunsmith. This cost varies by gunsmith. I believe a ballpark is $100 -$150.

I bought a skeet barrel from Beretta for my 682. It was a great price becuase they were unloading their fixed choke barrels. I paid $500 for the barrel. 28" ported Super Skeet Barrel. I sent the barrel and reciever to Coles and they fitted the barrel for $200. I would highly recommend them. http://www.colegun.com/
