After listening to the AG from Delaware I know I can now add Delaware to the list of states where I will not attend shoots due to their anti-gun stance. Those on my list include Illinois, New York, Massachusetts, and now Delaware.

I am curious if anyone feels the same and would like to see what list they have.

What others should be on my list?

Pretty sure the Maryland Governor just came out in favor of really strong controls...

Is this a REAL thread by a REAL person? You're kidding. Right? Just about as logical as an embargo.

I understand your feeling, but in reality you've hurt the Gun Clubs and the people supporting shooting in those States. Now they have less resources to fight the Anti's. If everyone felt this way more gun clubs would close and the Anti's would have their way.

Just a different way to think about it.

    niagara,

    NO.

Your post is dumb. Why would you not patronize ATA shoots because of pending, or speculative gun control legislation?

I don't say this very often, but I really don't want to shoot with you anyway. Please stay home.

    Maryland doesn't finger print now????

I've had a CCP ever since I turned 21 and was allow to own a handgun(violation of my second amendment rights)36 years ago.

Was finger printed then, pasted the same background checks done to school teachers and any time I missed the "renewal" date I had to pay a penalty and re-finger printed.

Back when I first got a CCP, they were accepted in all 50 states. Most all LEO once they knew you had one, YOU were one of the "Good Guys"(less worry during traffic stops). They knew you have one, once they ran your drivers license through dispatch or now their computer system.

But now we have to many Socialist/Communist in high places!! running the show!

    Ajax,

I understand your post...but there are states that are friendly to gun owners. Illinois and Delaware certainly aren't one of them. Isn't it OK to want to spend my monies where the politicians aren't using my funds to take my guns away?

While I agree it is not a good idea to punish the shooting venues, I think a well worded correspondance to the Governor would be in order.

Politely saying you will visit shoots in his state, but you will domicile yourself in 'firearms friendly' states (PA comes to mind), bringing in all food, drink, etc. and with a car well fueled from outside the state. Thus bringing almost no financial benefit to his state.

I'd also mention that the summer vacation to the shore will be heading south - perhaps VA or NC...

Realize that Delaware has no sales tax, so your money spent there will only benefit the state from things like fuel and hotel rooms.

Hey Guys, give Niagara a break. He made a statement he felt would punish those States. At least he was trying to do something that he thought might help.

We would all like to boycott Anti-Gun States but most of the time we hurt the guys trying to stand up for gun rights.

Does anyone have any ideas how to make the shooters presence felt in any of those States?

Curt, you are obviously a graduate of one of Dale Carnegie's "How to Win Friends & Influence People" courses. Can't say I've seen a more eloquent attempt at getting ones point across in a diplomatic and effective manner.

    Kudos.
