A little off the trapshooting topics but...

Anyone have the Remington 700 VTR in .223? Hows the trigger? Accuracy? What are your over all thoughts of the gun?

I appreciate any responses, Thanks for your input

The one my friend bought shot like rifles costing twice as much.

Low recoil too, from the port job. An excellent offering of new technology and staying affordable.

The porting helps I guess but .223 doesn't recoil much at all as it is.

I just bought a Savage Model 10 Predator in 223 caliber. I own tons of top end rifles. All i can say about this $695.00 Savage is unbelievable. Shot it today. It put 5 shots under a 1/2 group at 100 yards using 55 grain factory Horniday ammo.. The trigger is great around 2 lbs factory. 4.5x14x50 Leupold scope on it.

My wife and I both have 700 VTR's in .223. They are great. After all the problems I had with my Savage .17 HMR I never even considered it. I did shoot a new Howa and a new Browning as well as the VTR. It was no contest. We shot as fast as we could feed ammo into the VTR and could not get the barrel to even start warming up. When I got ours we paid just at 600.00 at Cabela's and got I think it was 50.00 each rebate on the guns.

I have a 130.00 Bushnell on her's and a 130.00 Simmons on mine and we have both shot sub 1" groups at 100 yards.
