? about Mossberg 100 Rifles

    I Looked at a Mossberg 100 ATR .270 the other day and was Just wondering If anybody knew anything about these? I Just wanted It for a Backup deer rifle. Thanks

    My friend has one in .270 and it's shoots 1.5 to 1.75 groups with factory ammo. I think he paid something $280 for it. Not a bad little rifle ofr the money IMHO.

    Personally, I would go with a Stevens/Savage Model 200. They average about $275 and come in many calibers.

    My son received one in .30-06 as a gift from a relative last year. It looks like what it is, a cheap rifle, but it shoots inch to inch-and-a-half 100-yard five-shot groups with factory ammo.

    Ducks hit it on the head...the Savage/Stevens 200 is way more rifle and the only thing you're giving up is the accu-trigger
