Maybe we should require background checks before allowing anyone to buy a knife. Better yet, let's ban all knives or limit the amount of knives a person can own.

Not one single fatality in this crime.

Almost a comparison to the Sandy Hook & Aurora incidents of recent.

    Try again.

Probably did not pass a background check, and did not want to take the time to search for a gun on the streets. First time criminal? Someone should have pulled out a gun and shot the a$$hole!

Reports I heard said the knife was an Xacto brand. More like a box cutter than a real knife.

Better license knife purchases now. And blades.

Hospitals report that gunshot wounds are more surviveable now, than ever due to new technologies and medicines. Knives can inflict very severe damage.

Part of the controversy at Sandy Hook was that there were no wounded.

Guns are limited in England. Now knives are very limited as well. There is a maximum blade size of 2 to 3 inches over there. The law was passed to limit knives because so many people were getting robbed or injured by a person with a knife.

Yep - here we go as well.

I'll bet it was a 'high capacity' box cutter? Jumped right off the desk and stabbed 14 victims all by itself.

Still time to contact Sen. Toomey (PA) to get him to not go along with the Dems and Obama on expanded background checks...

Below is a copy of email I just sent him...please contact him ASAP!!!!

    Dear Sen. Toomey:

Tonight just totally shows what more gun laws and increased background checks are going to accomplish!!! Absolutely NOTHING!!! The latest vicious nutjob using a knife injuring all the students!!! You need to address this in 2 ways that will help deter this type of stuff...DEAL With The Mental Illness!!!!!!!
Have armed staff on schools and do not declare them "Gun Free" zones!!! That only declares that the school is a "Soft Target", sitting totally unprotected. WAKE UP Legislators!!!
    Do what's right!!!
Don't impose more useless laws on law abiding citizens to make yourselves feel good!!!

We need some “Common Sense” restrictions. I think O’ would welcome these restrictions. What do you think?

Blades over 3” long are banned, no exceptions. Blades shorter than 3”are allowed providing they are dull. Any blade excessively sharpened to an edge capable of cutting flesh shall be banned. Knives having any more than one of the following characteristics are banned: having a camo “military” appearance, having a pistol grip, having a folding blade, having a pointed blade, having a blade capable of accepting a sharpening stone in excess of 2”. No more than one knife per month can be purchased; no exceptions. All persons must be deemed suitable to possess a knife and must undergo an extensive background check. The Permit to Carry a Knife will be issued by the local municipal knife safety officer. Concealed knife carry is not allowed; ever! When not at use in the home, all knives shall be locked in a secure, tamper proof container. Massachusetts residents may not receive knives or sharpening stones via mail order.
