I've reloaded some grey AA's with crimps that look awful. I finally found the proper adjustments to the first crimp and final crimp so crimp now looks OK.

Question - assuming the shotshell loads properly into the barrel does it make a difference what the final crimp looks like? e.g., does it affect fps, pressure, etc.?

A good tight crimp can have a positive effect on powder ignition. HMB

Assumming your talking about the screw-ups before you got your press running correctly, it won't hurt to shoot them. You may notice different pressure changes. Make them practice shells only and pitch the casings.

You can always get a shell or PVC cutter an reclaim your componets. I wouldn't screw with trying to save the primers.
