So the question is are there enough league and games shooters out there who would travel to Las Vegas for a first class, non-registered, money type shoot? Having had a lot of fun putting on the Las Vegas 1000 registered shoot in May, we are wondering if we produced a non-registered shoot in October how many shooters would like to come out and enjoy the fantastic new Clark County Shooting Park, have some fun, win some money and enjoy a few Vegas nights. We also are considering what the format should be.

Right now we are considering a Lewis Class Buddy shoot. The format for this shoot is that it is two person teams and everyone shoots 25 from the 16 and 25 from the 22. The team scores are then divided into 4 Lewis classes and then the teams with the top scores in each class immediately shoot off for the money in that event. With $15.00 per shooter, ($30.00 per team) going in the pot, with only 100 teams, each event would have a pot of $3000. Consequently, each class would be shooting off for $750.00 divided $500 for winning team and $250 for runner-up.

Shootoffs would be 2 per post with on member shooting from the 16 and then his buddy shooting from the 22 then reversing as necessary. The fun comes from having $500.00, maybe more, on the line and not wanting to let your buddy down. Obviously, the shootoffs are also a lot of fun to watch.

We would do at least 2 events per day and the buy in would be $40-$45 per shooter, per event. We would shoot Thursday -Sunday and you can enter as many events as you like. We would also have some good hotel packages available.

So, do you non-registered shooters want to come to Las Vegas and enjoy a first class shoot experience? Of course, registered shooters are welcome to come and enjoy the fun as well. Because the shootoffs are based on a Lewis system, shooters of all abilities have the same chance to win the same money and with the buddy system, teams can be friends, couples, family members, etc. If you can’t get someone to come with you, we will make up teams from singles.

So, what do you think? Comments welcomed.

PS. The 2012 Las Vegas 1000 is tentatively scheduled for May 14 – 18. We’ll have final plans in a week or so.

personally I would not be interested in non-registered shoot. Also the May 2012 LV Shoot I think is the same time as the Empire Grand. ? maybe consider the conflict with satellite grand dates
