I got out my Trapshooting Scrap Book and found an interesting story on Reloaders

Which was 2 targets higher than the West Virginia Singles Champion.

His gun a Winchester 1400 was damaged and picked up a Winchester Model 12 Solid Rib Trap to break his 100x100 hdcp, and Ky Doubles class championship.

John Sheilds smashes 100 straight to become Non Resident Handicap Champion and is believed to be the first Canadian to ever break 100 straight in Hdcp. in
the 1969 Ohio State Shoot he shot from the 20.5 yd. line. He said he was shaking all over and needed to get out of there and drive home.

There were 1343 entries in the Championship Handicap. Approx 270 squads.

From the front page of the Carl Wilde school paper spring addition 1963. Jerry Bryant set new school record for high jump at 5'1" later that day he also won the 100 yd dash and placed 2nd in the broad jump.

(school paper was really only one page.. but my name was on the front)

When I was a kid, (a long time ago...) one of the guys at the now defunct Buffalo TRAP&FIELD Club had a Hollywood loader. I know because he asked me to come help him move it! He had lower back problems and couldn't lift this behemoth! It had to go 100 pounds if it weighed an ounce!

He had the auto case feeder and a bunch of dies for it. Cool loader...as long as you didn't have to move it!

I find $995.00 in 1969 for a loader a Caddilac or a Rolls Royce and that one looks exactly like the picture in Trap & Field, wonder how many they sold?

It is antique now probably worth $5,000 on todays market.

    Are you still using it?

Congratulations Dr. Longshot on your shooting achievement back then and moment of glory. You made it in the book, but did you ever make it on the cover? By the way, the mailing label on the cover, with your name on it, doesn't count.

    :)

Do you have any grudge/matches planned for the Cardinal Classic?

We were discussing Gary's biography the other day. There were many instances that people were astounded about.

My particular favorites were...Telling the fisherman to cast their nets to the other side for fish. Feeding the multitudes. His flair for baptisms and rolling the stone away after 3 days.

I'll see if I can find the book with all of his exploits in it. That was just in the King James edition.

I once had a 25 straight. Haven't had another since Sept 1965 when the Braves left Milwaukee. Someone try and beat that record!

Please leave Dr. Longshot alone. He was a great shooter in his younger days and he is aloud to reminisce. He still can shoot for an old man. Let's not be too critical of our senior shooters. You know who you are. Thanks.

I mailed out over 350 Magic Rocks, many still carry them yet today ... Show the ladies your Magic Rocks and you can be a very popular guy, attract ladies like that testosterone aftershave they sell ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
