I have yet to meet a marine that I wouldn't be proud to share a foxhole with regardless of his sexual preference..I'd rather have him by my side then people like you that would question his determination. Please, question your intent in posting such a question. God bless our service men & women. May they all return home safe & sound.

It seems to me that these homophobes may just be afraid that they themselves might become aroused around these terrible, evil homosexuals. Get over it. Neil

Our fine country would probably be a lot better place to live if there weren't so many high-and-mighty, holier-than-thou types that hate anyone who's not like them. Neil

I agree that a gay guy is always on the prowl. If you haven't ever had a gay guy approach you and proposition you, you don't know the meaning of the word creepy. It's no wonder that they are transforming them in the schools. Kids are easy to confuse.

Through my 20 years of service, order, disipiline, and moral were always adversely affected by the knowledge of a Homosexual among the unit. It never seemed to matter the rank, position or professional ability of the individual. In most cases once "out of the closet" the individuals were eventually discharged. In one case I had a very professional Sergeant in my charge that was having allegations brought to me a short while after his arrival in the unit. I discounted them as unhappy soldiers being required to "tow the line ". One evening I was summonsed to the barracks. This individual had been placed in a wall locker and pushed out the second story window of the barracks. It was reported he had returned to the barracks after consuming a large amount of local German beer and attempted to get in the wrong bunk. Considering this individual had a private room and his insistance that he had wandered into a squad room by mistake, still I didn't believe. Two weeks later he was arrested for soliciting an undercover Polizei in a rest room at the Frankfurt Train Station. Needless to say that ended his Military service. There will be far reaching adverse affects from this seemingly "harmless" repeal. Good luck to those who have to deal with the new policy. Jake, 1SG USA Ret.

We also had some that slipped in the shower, once was usually sufficient. They were normally discharged quietly. I almost felt sad for them & glad I didn't have that problem.

Evidently these Gay service people really evoke a lot of fear in the upright citizens brigade so maybe they should be out there scaring our enemies as well.

I haven't met all the gay people in the world but the ones I do know of never have made a pass at me or suggested that my straight lifestyle offended them. If I were in the military I think I would be more interested in whether the soldier next to me could do his job rather than what his 'politics' may be.

I don't thing being gay has anything to do with politics by the way.

My solution is to make up a unit in the different branches of the military just for Gays and then the real men can operate as normal.

They can then send the Gay units into combat as a group. I do know that the Muslims really accept them.

Yes shooterII, I am aware that being gay is not a matter of politics as in do you choose the Repubican or the Democratic party.

When you talk about segregation though, I can think of a few other times in our history where people were segregated in our military based on equally subjective criteria (and equally wrong). Hopefully we learned a thing or two there.

When I traveled to the Middle East for my company, culture there was a bit different than that in the U. S.. For example, if you were to ask a muslim about his wife, you insulted the muslim because it was seen as an effort on your part to get to know his wife intimately. On the other hand, it wasn't unusual to see muslims walking down the street holding on to another man's hand. Go figure. So I agree that muslims are accepting of homosexuality.

Men in the middle east often walk hand in hand. They are not gay, it's just their custom. I used to assist with foreign military as a Foreign Liaison Officer in the 1960's. Often I would take a group of 20-40 or so into a city and they would start walking hand in hand in uniform. We got a lot of stares.

    Islam does not accept homosexuality.

For some cultural reason, the Afgan males like little boys and they have for centuries. It is normal in their culture and they do not consider it to be homosexuality.

I was stationed in Japan in the early 70's and it was common to see young men walking down the street and holding hands. I liked to dance and went to different clubs and would be dancing with a girl and a guy would come up and start to dance. The first time that happened I got kicked out of that club. LOL Later the girl told me it was a compliment. Needless to say that ended my dancing downtown. Jackie B.
