    Just out of curiosity, Dick's has gun clubs on sale, and I was tempted. Anybody use #9s from the 16? Seems like it would smoke 'em.....

    Yes they will smoke-em from 16yds, unless you ride your birds out quite a ways, maybe good back to the 20 if you shoot reasonably quickly. But in cold weather I go back to #8s, below freezing 7&1\2s. Ross Puls

    Don't use them in a strong wind or on Bio targets.

    Split the difference and go with 8 1/2 shot if it's available - works good for both 16yd trap and skeet!

    I use #9's as often as I can find them new and I reload #9's They work out well for me
