Last weekend I thought I broke a firing pin in my 90T. Called the Gun Dr. and he promptly sent me a couple at light speed, ( what a really nice guy ), but that is another story. Here is my dilemma; when I removed my old firing pin, to my surprise it was not broken. The firing pin retaining spring was broken in two pieces. Now my question; will the broken firing pin spring cause the primer to show no marks at all on the shell ? When this symptom was originally observed, I was convinced the firing pin was broken, now I'm really second guessing what the problem might be. The primer has no marks at all and you can hear the hammer fall really hard when you pull the trigger. Sorry for the long winded post, but I'm searching for the right answer.

    Thanks in advance,

The broken spring got in front of the pin.stopping it before it can even strike the primer.

Remove firing pin and clean out the firing hole

It is so rare for a 90-T to break a firing pin. Misfires most times are either a broken firing pin spring or a weak hammer spring.

When the firing pin spring breaks, the firing pin does not retract far enough for the hammer to hit it.
