870 Stock Wrench Size

    I have a Remington Expess 870 that has a loose stock. Question, what tool is
    required. I checked the search feature, could not locate, somehow 11/16 socket
    rings a bell. Would appreciate your kind assistance.

    I realize that. And that being said, there is however, I recall reading about
    a certain technique or socket size to remove and or secure the stock, I am
    in quest of that information.

    all the 870's that I have ever done anything with the stock with have a slotted screw driver head on them that is round. A hex head socket will be of no use.

    Brownells sells a special socket that has a slot bit in it for use on the stock bolt.

    OR a regular large slotted screw driver would work, but is hard to keep in place.
