I would like to put a 1100 stock on an 870 and am wondering what length the spacer tube for the stock bolt needs to be to make the 1100 stock fit the 870.
    thanks

You don't need a spacer to use an 1100 stock on an 870.

All you need is a 10 1/4" stock bolt.

The bolts are threaded 1/4-28. You can purchase a piece of all-tread and a couple nuts to fabricate your own.

The spacer is required to use an 870 stock on an 1100.

What mag410 says is true. The early Jack West Adjustable stocks could be used on both. The only thing he specified was to wrap the center of the 870 stock bolt with enough duct tape to keep the bolt centered in the larger action tube hole.
