    I have (2) 20ga 870's that have a different serial no. S----X and V-----x.
These are the older models with a Standard frame. Does the S or V have any specific meaning? Thanks

According to a list I have-----the "s" would be about 1968 & the "v" about 1978 with a "note" that the codes on shotguns is somewhat unreliable as they are barrel codes and 870s are stamped in the receiver. So don't know if this info will be any help. Ross Puls

Call Remington during normal business hours M-F, and you will talk to a nice lady that will give you all the info of your gun based on the serial numbers.
