Beautiful gun. I guess if your a collector you just justify spending that much. I could never spend $7000 on a pump gun. Wayne

I'm a little suspicious about this one. Try and get $3000.00 next month when the shills are not bidding the price up.

Guns are always and only worth what someone is willing to pay, forget about your books, etc. Willingness to sell meets willingness to pay, it's a beautiful place!

A shill is an affiliate of the seller whose mission is to bid up the price.

One of the reasons the price is so high is that it's a charity auction, probably one of the best looking tax write offs that you'll ever find..

"The SHOT Show auction is administered for the National Shooting Sports Foundation by the Hunting Heritage Trust and all proceeds of the auction will benefit the hunting and shooting sports enhancement and protection efforts of the Trust. The Hunting Heritage Trust is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a non-profit public charity."

I dont think i could ever spend that much on a Remington 870. Mine was 300 and i works just like an 870 should and i didnt pay $7000 for it.

Only the appraised value of the firearm can be "wrote off". It don't work on taxes like it use to.

Too glossy for field use. Needs to be camo dipped.

i am an 870 collector. years ago when i purchased a nib all american grade 870 from ruby jenner, a friend of mine said it's not worth as much as you just paid because it's "just an 870". when i purchased a beautiful D grade 870 years ago the same friend said i paid to much as it was "just an 870". to some, 870's are inexpensive pump guns, to others they are great guns with history. if i had that kind of money i would try and purchase this gun. keep it in a closet, you don't have to feed it, someday who knows what it will be worth. the first 870 tb i purchased cost me $165.00 new, if you wanted a monte carlo it was $5.00 more. who would have thought that a new 870 trap tc would cost $1,000.00 today? with this guns serial #, you have history of remington and our country, our sport, and many many great shooters who have used this gun. now that i think about it, if i had money to burn, this gun would go to the HOF, or given to Rudy Etchen if he was still alive.

Thats not a $7000 gun. Lightly engraved, a few specks of gold, 28" barrel, field style wood. The gun has no purpose, it's not set up for trap, or skeet. It's a field gun. I mean, I would use it for pheasants, I guess. It would be more impressive if the barrel had engraving, a monte carlo stock, extension forearm. The checkering pattern resembles the pattern of an express gun, should of had some carving.

I have a 5310 with 300 hours on it. I will take 250,000 and it has a lot more HP than that 5010
