Does anyone know if the stock can be interchanged from an 870 to an 1100 11-87 or vice versa. Someone told me they could be but if they can why would a stockmaker list them seperately on their website. Wouldn't they be listed under one heading. Let me know for sure.
    Thanks
    Rick

They can but I think there is a spacer issue with some years needing longer or shorter bolts. I do believe the stock dimensions are the same.

We just put a 1100 rollover trap stock on my friends 870 field gun. We had to drill out the shoulder in the 1100 stock for the short 870 bolt/washer.

The ideal way to do that would be to use a longer bolt and not have to drill the 1100 stock bolt hole when making the same switch we did.

Putting the 870 stock on the 1100,one would have to use a couple washers(top/bottom) and a piece of tubing in between so the nut would tighten on the action/spring tube of the 1100. Hap

1100 to 870 yes, with a little work. 870 to 1100, not without drilling and much work. Cheaper to buy one. Todd

Depending on the year made, I dont remeber of hand.
No drilling required. I just got some 1/4 rod and threaded it on both ends. Or you can order the new style 10 1/4" bolt from Reminton or midway above.
As for older deep hole/short bolt 870 to 1100. you just need to find a suitable spacer to fit over action tube up to the threaded area on the tube. Suffiecent enought to tighten stock.
I used 1/4 ro and threaded both ends 1/4 28. threaded into reciever with a jam nut. then installed stock, lock waser, washer, nut.

I found a little length of 3/4 inch copper plumbers pipe to work best for a spacer after I've made adjustments to an 1100 stock. cheers, Deni.
