Looking for a light load with 800 x, for skeet and 16 yard trap, any favorite loads anyone would like to share, thanks Rick

rickk, though there may be some guide that talks about what you want, the shells won't be any good. My experience has been that 800x can best be used to trade for another power, for trap, anyway.

The burning rate of 800X is far to slow to be a good powder for reduced loads with 1 1/8oz.. The powder was designed for FAST 1 1/4oz on up... You'd be better served to use it for certain pistol reloads.. slugs or buckshot.. or heavy field loads.. I'd invest in some Red Dot.. 700X...Promo.. Tite Wad..Any of those would be much better choices.. Hope this helps.. All Good.. Mike

Even if you successfully use 800X for light loads you are going to have your gun and hands covered with black soot.

I use it for 1 1 /4 loads from the fence and also I make pheasant loads out of it, greta stuff but not for light loads

Not really suitable for target loads. Best used for pistol and heavier field loads in the 12ga. It meters poorly in some loaders. Trade it for something more suitable.
