Can anyone tell me when (approximately) 700X became "white flake" identified?
It had always been "yellow flake" Id'ed (since the 60s), but when I bought two of the new 8 pounders last August they were white (actually sorta gray)flaked. My last 12lb keg was from an '02 lot and still had yellow flakes. Just curious.

I bought an 8 lb jug this spring with a sticker #809150917953. The flakes are yellow.

It seems like other powders have had an identity crisis as well. I have Green Dot with Blue Flakes, Red Dot with brown flakes, etc. 700-X has usually been yellow, but I remember a five pound can about thirty years ago that had very light flakes that were almost white. As long as it was a sealed jug with a proper label, I wouldn't worry about it.
