70/30 50/40 90/10 etc

    Ok! A question what is the % for a flat shooting gun? I don't like to float the bird, and try to shoot dead on. What do you think is the best for me? thanks for your input. Butch H

    50/50, 60/40. Fiugre 8 right under the target and pull the trigger.

    I actually like the 50/40 you mentioned. You can give the remaining 10% to me....my patterns can use all the help they can get.

    There is more to it than that. I shoot 100% high. I point right at a straight away. I do not float the bird. I shoot quickly. If you shoot when the bird crests you can shoot a much flatter gun. The best way to find out is lock the trap for straight aways. Shoot as you normally do and raise the comb until you ink spot every bird.
