What does the box say the speed is? If it's 1350 or less they are OK from a rulebook point of view, but it sounds like a poor choice for 4-H (or AIM) kids, who would do better with an ounce going 1100-1150 fps it seems to me.

Probably intended for International Trap shooting where shot charges of 24 Grams is permitted (very close to 7/8 oz) but speed is generally quite high for that crowd. Not a good load for training kids/beginners in my opinion. Sounds like a need for someone to reload ammo with 7/8 oz of shot, appropriate wad, and shoot for (sorry) about 1200 to 1220 fps velocity. Those I can confirm will please the young'uns.....Bob Dodd

If they are International trap loads try trading them for a better lighter load for the kids. Some one should be able to trade you out try a bunker club.

Those are interantional loads. They smoke targets, but recoil is commesurate to a handicap load of 1 1/8 oz. I reload 7/8, rem hull, cb 1100-12 wad, 32 bushing out of a mec with claydot (17/18 gns) to 22 yards. 29 bushing drop 15 gns and is a soft shooting, hard hitting load at 16 yards with 8.5 shot.
