i have only two guns that seem to express a preference: a beretta 390 with a factory trap barrel, goes for 7,5; a remington 3200, factory barrels, clearly goes for 8's. fwiw...

One bag of each and mix-em up real good then you will have the best of both worlds, and no brain exertion. Merry Christmas to all. Ross Puls

If you mix equal weights of 7 1/2 and 8's you end up with that killer combo known at the 15 1/2!
    Merry Xmas Amigos!

But seriously folks: Earlier last summer I was musing about what a good year I had in '07. I'm basically just local club shooter, but I won some cool stuff that year and also got my first 100st. I recalled that i was only using 7.5's exclusively back then and had evolved into 8's since then just for the extra pellets per shell. It was time to go shopping anyway so I loaded up on 7.5's. You guessed it, I had a great rest of the year. Ended up beating about 40 other guys in our end of the year league shoot off, winning a couple hundred bucks. Also doing real well at some local public shoots. So.........got my new skyhook...7.5's. Bill

Looks like the ammo companies could make a lot of money selling 7.75's. I would certainly buy at least one box.

Does an ounce of 7 1/2's weigh as much as an ounce of 8's?
