No Goose, you have a 687 with an adjustable trigger. :)

The engraving is often different. 686E may have the same engraving pattern. The barrels on the 682 have changeable shoulders that almost never have to be changed.

Not all 687's have 682 barrels. Only the ones with the replaceable shoulders.

THe Etchen 687 combos have the 682 barrels, the only difference beside the adjustable trigger, is the engraving, and wood..you want birds on it, get the 687..you want the gloss wood get the 682..you want the oil finish, get the 687..all in all it comes down to the looks..which one is YOUR STYLE..I have both..and lvoe them both! lb

As noted, internally 682 and 687 receivers are the same. The difference is in the exterior finish and decoration. Additionally, the 682 comes from the factory with an adjustable trigger. This trigger will also fit the 687, and is available from several sources if desired. 68X series generally are interchangeable, thus 682 barrels with generally fit any 68X series receiver, mostly out of the box (though not always. The Joel Etchen specials are 687 receivers with 682 series barrels (I have one).
