I don't see why cabelas even bothers selling shot at that price, no one in their right mind would pay $50 for a bag of round lead balls.

I guess if I want to reload I'll have to purchase from one of the big box stores like Gander, or Bass Pro. I've always purchase components from one of the local guys. He has always had the best price plus I shoot with him. Today I asked him what shot was selling for. He said he didn't have any and wasn't planning on getting any. He's afraid if he orders a semi load for $40 a bag he will not be able to sell it, and he is also afraid the price might drop. If lead drops $5 to $10 a bag he is stuck. It's also not econmical for him to just buy a ton or so.

He's between a rock and a hard place. If you can't buy lead there is no reason to buy powder, wads, or primers.

I was at Cabela's in Kansas City about 2 weeks ago and the sign said shot "starting at 34.99" but when I went to buy some it was 49.99. I just took it back and left it. Remember at Cabela's they have a lot of coupons that can make it cheaper if you buy $100 or $150. The gun club today shot was 40.00 a bag but according to them the next shipment is going to be higher yet.

For a while us "steel" guys were odd-men out at $25/25#, not looking too bad these days! I have to believe that Lead will eventually find an equilibrium point and work its way back down - just hasn't happened yet.
