I have 2 5 pack winchester western tracer loads mark 5 with a winchester gunclub shield on the lable. The shells have yellow lettering #8 tracer loads.. what is the history on these? I would like to try them at night, are they safe to shoot?

They were probably made around 1968. They were banned a lot of places because they could start grass fires. Ron

Ron is correct. We used them in western PA in that same time period. But they were sold in boxes of 25 with the Mark 5 label. I was just starting to shot trap and loved them as a training tool. Would love to have a case or two for tuff shots at sporting clays.
