I've recently come across a 4E that is basically in the box and probably only test fired, if that. The owners are non shooting people, but do realize it is a high quality firearm.

I'm really intrested in buying this gun for a lot of reasons, but not to put in the safe. If I buy it I am going to try and use it as a primary gun. I had one years ago that was third hand and did well with it but foolisly traded it off.

I generally do well with guns that are more low-ribbed than high, and wonder the following:
Will this gun hold up to moderate pressure (200 shells a week) using modern trap loads?

How much is too much to pay for this gun? I realy cannot take pictures, but the gun is really in new condition minus the box. It appears to be a standard issue 4E with nothing extra. An asking price has not yet been established.

    Thanks

    Roger

Not enough information to give an educated guess...

    Flues? Knick?

    32", 30"

    etc, etc...

Everything on the gun is clean and bright. I'm not sure about the screw pattern and will have to check. It looks like it was put away well with the muzzle down in a sleeve and never touched.

Yeah, what is the serial number? If it is "nice and shiny" it may be redone. A redone Flues is a $500 gun. A redone Knick is a $1000 gun. Watch out for original condition.
