I have been told that if you are going to reload the 410 3" shells it is ok to use the wad for the 2 1/2 " ones. The wad for the 3" are either very expensive or no longer made. I just wanted to see if any of you have heard of doing this.
I have a lot of federal 3" shells that I hate to toss because of components. Does anyone have reccomendations

.410 wads are all pretty similar in that they don't have the collapsable mid section. Generally you will use the same wad for 2 1/2" or 3" loads.

Back in the Day I believe that I used the 2 1/2 inch wad as there was no real differnce. My shells kill Doves, and Quail DEAD.

So guys I am assuming now that I want to load the 3"ers I will have to get another charge bar and powder bushing.

You will need a 11/17 oz charge bar, need to look at the load chart I think that .410 bore shels are MAX load. Hogden site works well.
