I started reloading 410. Tried Lilgun, and 296 ball powder. Both seem very dirty,What is the best load and cleanest load. Heard H110 is good. Any suggestion?
    Thanks Dale

No such thing as a clean .410 load.

The new Alliant 300MP is the best I have used in 50 years. It has lower pressure than others and will extend hull life. The Alliant 410 is cleaner but it will burn through the sides of the hulls sooner. H110 and Winchester 296 are good, same bushing as the 300MP but a bit dirtier. I am using 16.0 gr. of 300MP. Dale, check out Alliant 410. I've heard that H110 may be the same as 296. Alliant 410 meters better than 296, with no leakage. It is cleaner burning than 296, and it patterns well. Bob.

Factory powder is used in factory shells. It's not available as a canister powder. Same answer as for 12 ga.

Have been using Alliant 410 and pleased with results but sounds like 300mp is worth a try.

H110 and 296 are the same powder, they both shoot the same as far as dirty or less dirty. Load 296 and forget the rest.

Ditto what Gun1357 said. 300 mp is the best so far in performance, pressures, and shell preservation. Like skeetman said though, there is no such thing as a clean burning .410 load.

Hll0 and Win. 296 are the same powder!!! I can buy the Hll0 cheaper almost always, so I do. Nothing will meter better as it is such a small dia. ball powder, but it will leak if you do not use both washers with the Mec's. You can interchange the reloading data from Hodgdon's website for these powders as well. I get real low pressure loads and excellent hull life with these powders and I will not even try any others. Now if you want clean try the 28 gauge!!! LOL break em all Jeff
