Probably the most popular powders for loading the .410 currently are Winchester 296 and Hodgdon H110 which are practically interchangeable. Make sure to check what your reloader powder drops are on a good scale. You may have to do a little filing or nail polish coating on the I.D. of the powder bushing to get the powder drops just right for the amount the recipe calls for, but you'll end up with a better performing and SAFER reload if you take the trouble to do it. Here's a link where you can find lots of recipes for loading the .410 2-1/2" and 3" hulls. ....Rick

Get the Lyman manual for the 3" 410. If you have Remmy or Fed brass, there is a full 3/4 oz 1200 fps load for these hulls. In a good gun with good chokes, this really makes the wienie gun come alive in the field, especially with copper plated shot.

I have loaded this in both Fed and Remmy hulls. In a special ordered Briley Ultimate Ultralite 3" Tube set in a 20 ga, set up with IMOD/FULL, the performance was surprising in the field.
